India is a large sub continent with diverse culture and religious beliefs. The art of science is yet to percolate in the rural areas where the belief in God and Ghost exist in parallel. On one hand, people follow the Vedas and perform rituals word to word as prescribed in the ancient literature. On the other hand, people get stringent when argued about the matter beyond the understanding of science/technology. Without getting into the wisdom of locals whether the belief is true or not, Indians do believe in paranormal activities. Also, sometimes they tend to add their own version of ghosts without any base. Surprisingly, in some instances science is also unable to explain the reason for such haunted/paranormal activities which substantiates the belief of the existence of ghosts. However, documents exist about haunted palaces, forts and beaches, some of which are discussed here.
